Guildford Town Hall, built in 1937, is a state heritage-listed building located in the historic town of Guildford. Designed in the Inter-War Art Deco style, this single-storey brick structure—alongside the adjoining Guildford Public Library—has long served as a civic and cultural landmark for the City of Swan. Its architectural character and enduring community use reflect the development of the town and its local government.
Ailtire Architects were commissioned in 2020 to prepare a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) for the Town Hall. Following the CMP Ailtire were further engaged to fully document and manage conservation works, integrating modern upgrades such as acoustic and thermal insulation, HVAC systems, electrical and security enhancements, and universal accessibility improvements.
These works have ensured that Guildford Town Hall remains a functional and inclusive community venue. Ailtire’s approach has preserved the building’s heritage integrity while adapting it to meet contemporary needs.
